Anaiza Medina

Anaiza Medina is the Hispanic Programs and Community Outreach Coordinator. She received her bachelor’s from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently pursuing her MBA. As an undergraduate, she found herself engaging with organizations that provided personal, professional and community growth. Influenced by her Latina identity, she founded a multicultural Latina-based sorority on her campus – Sigma Lambda Gamma. Passionate about serving others, Anaiza joined Teach for America-Alabama in 2017 where she made a direct impact on future leaders and breached educational inequities. In summer 2021, Anaiza completed her educational fellowship with TALMA where she taught English in Israel. During this fellowship, she expanded her intercultural mindset and leadership development.
A first-generation Mexican-American, Anaiza knows that there is a growing need for services tailored towards the needs of Hispanic and Latino communities. Anaiza is driven to provide opportunities and services for these communities all over Alabama. She is committed to serving others by bridging language barriers, establishing community and creating breast cancer awareness.
