Coffee Conversations: Breast Cancer Myths

Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center hosts a virtual “Coffee Conversation” on select mornings at 10:00 am central time that features a 30-minute interview with a survivor, co-survivor, or medical professional on a topic, followed by a time for conversation with participants.
Wednesday’s February 22nd Coffee Conversation features Ahmed Elkhanany, MD. Dr. Elkhanany is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he specializes in Breast Cancer Care. He received his Hematology and Oncology training at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York, where his research focused on Breast cancer genomic composition, interaction of immune and breast cancer cells, and how these processes differ by race and ethnicity. His main interest remains in genomic understanding of Breast cancer driver factors and developing novel agents that can combat the aggressive forms of the disease, as well as his involvement in UAB Breast Cancer Clinical Trial Program and Experimental Therapeutics Program.
