Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center hosts a virtual “Coffee Conversation” on select mornings that features a 30-minute interview with a survivor, co-survivor or medical professional on a topic, followed by a time for conversation with participants.
September 11th’s Coffee Conversation features Reverend Dr. Nathaniel T. Brooks. Dr. Brooks is known for his optimism and enthusiasm in spreading the gospel of Christ. His passion for teaching and preaching has led him to serve in leadership roles across various educational, community and religious organizations. He has been actively involved with institutions such as the Institute of Youth Ministry and the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission, demonstrating a commitment to education and social change through advocacy and leadership. Dr. Brooks has also conducted missionary work in developing countries, furthering his mission to empower others to achieve their best education and serve diligently in their faith.
Since answering his call to ministry in 2004 and being ordained in 2007, Dr. Brooks has served as a pastor in churches across Virginia and North Carolina, currently leading as Senior Pastor of Greater Saint John Baptist Church in Birmingham. He also heads the Change-It Foundation, focusing on change management and leadership dynamics. Dr. Brooks holds academic qualifications from Norfolk State University, Virginia Union University-Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned his Doctorate of Ministry. His academic achievements include memberships in honor societies and various scholarships, underscoring his commitment to excellence in both his professional and personal life.
