Join Forge for a special in-person arts session led by Dr. Sharon Cook. Sharon was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, which returned as metastatic in 2018. Throughout her cancer journey, Sharon has turned to artistic pursuits for coping and healing. During this two-hour session, Sharon will teach participants about Mandala philosophy and techniques and lead us in the creation of our own works for art.
Sharon will blend teachings from Mandalas and Zentangle, another meditative arts practice typically done with a black pen on white paper. In this workshop, participants will work on colorful creations on black sheets of paper (inspired by the registration photo above). This workshop will build on techniques learned in our August workshop, but if you are new to mandalas, you are welcome to join this October class!
We will begin at 2:00pm with a sweet snack and light refreshments before learning about and creating Mandalas with Sharon. Please join us for an afternoon of making art and joining in community with one another.
About the materials: Forge will provide all materials for in-person participants.
If you are able to donate any amount to contribute to Forge’s continued efforts to support our local breast cancer community, we greatly appreciate it. Donations can be made on the Forge website: https://forgeon.org/donate
